However, with a Code Block, the formatting should transfer in the copy/paste. Also, if someone copies your code from the document, the formatting may not stick. If you just copy and paste your code directly into the document, you’ll have to manually format the code so it looks correct. One of the main benefits of adding a code block in a Google Document is that these blocks follow syntax rules according to the language this means that with a code block you’ll have proper indentation and highlighting. Benefits of adding Code Blocks to Google Docs Blocks are fundamental to structured programming, where control structures are formed from blocks. A programming language that permits the creation of blocks, including blocks nested within other blocks, is called a block-structured programming language. Blocks consist of one or more declarations and statements. What is code block?Ī code block, sometimes referred to as a compound statement, is a lexical structure of source code which is grouped together. In a blog post on the new feature, Google noted that it will only be available for those with “Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, Education Standard, Education Plus customers, and Nonprofit” accounts.
